Windows 2000 Server Maximum RAM

by cburnham . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I know that Windows 2000 Server can only recognize up to 4 GB of RAM. My Dell PowerEdge server can handle up to 12 GB. Not realizing about the limitation in W2K Server, I upgraded from 2 GB to 6 GB of RAM.

When I run Sandra Pro, it shows that I do have 6 GB of RAM, but of course Windows is only showing 4 GB.

Am I wasting the last 2 GB or is the system still somehow using it?
