I am facing a problem in Win 2K Server
Server:OS:Windows 2000 Server with SP4 loaded with latest OS patches.
Nodes:OS:Windows 2000 Prof with SP4 loaded with latest Patches.
Symantec antivirus 9 is installed with latest update is loaded on server and all the nodes
Domain and DHCP is configured on the server.
Problem:-While giving printout from server a message is coming immediately “Windows failed to print,”
Customer has 4 passbook printers (2 in com port/2 in LPT) ,2 DMPs(LPT) ,one LJP(USB) and one LMP(LPT).
This printers are shared and permissions are given .
Customer is logging as Domain administrator on all the Nodes.
While trying to connect these printers to Domain it is connecting without any error.When giving a printout from the server to any of these printers it is giving an error “Windows failed to print the document”immediately after giving the printout.But while giving printout from the local nodes it is printing without any error.
I had connected these printers as network printer in between the nodes there it is printing.
Then I had connected one passbook printer on the Com Port of the server there also the same error is coming.
But from command prompt printout is coming.
After connecting the LMP on the LPT port of the server the same error is coming but from Command prompt printout is coming.
I had connected the LJP to the USB of the server but it is printing from Windows without any error but if I am connecting the LJP to any node and after installing the printer as network printer in server the same error is coming.
