i want to know that , can i delete the old virus defenition folders from this location

will it affect my symantec system center to detect any sort of virus

    pls help me

Yes, you can safely delete the older folders as they do contain the virus updates for that time frame.

They are kept there for a “Roll-back” feature in case the latest one you download is corrputed in any way.

So, it is safe to assume deletion of all those folders, leaving at least the latest 3 updates there as a fallback.
