Windows 2000 SP - 4

By stuart.douglas ·
Installed service pack 4 for windows 2000 Professional.

Have set up 4 users as follows: -
1. Administrator
2. Power user (A)
3. Power user (B)
4. Normal user

Since installing service pack 4 on pc the administrator and power user (A) can use internet explorer and all the desktop icons, but when others try to click on any icons on desktop or try i.e. for internet access they get following error message popping up: -

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
X Runtime Error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
Please contact the application's support team for more info

Internet Explorer is version 6.02:2800.11061s
ID Update version
This is a customised Version of IE

Haven't installed sp4 yet, so this is just a suggestion. Stands to reason that the problem must be permissions set for at least one dll file required for IE (and active desktop functions). Also, have you checked the MS knowledgebase?
