Windows 2000 status code 128

By k.pinel ·
At various times users have logged on to their machines only to get a message stating that their machine is going to shut down in 60 seconds. The only thing in common with the message is status code 128. We have one computer that continually generates the problem, usually in services.exe, and is being used to test solutions. We have already tried deleting corrupted log files to no avail.

Hi
I can only assume because of the age of the
Win 2000 that this will be addressed in
future documentation. Here is the link to
the support page.

I have tried all kinds of combinations in
search for this error code along with
services.exe maybe I missed something.
Looks like going direct to Microsoft will
be the only way to get an answer.

Been there. All variations of the error message showed 0 results. Have just tried again in case they updated the database. Will keep an eye on it.

I found a link to download an error message
file.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/messages/default.asp
This is an excel file and 128 says
There are no child processes to wait for.\r\n
