Windows 2000 takes long time to log out.

By Dutchman10 ·
I have been updating PC's in our network to Win 2k SP3 and applying other critical updates. It seems that after these updates it takes a LONG time for me to log off or shut down the PC. The log out window displays something along the lines of "Saving system Settings". This only seems to happen with my user profile. If I log in with a different username, it takes very little time to save these same settings.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are you getting event ID 1000 Type userenv
"Windows cannot unload your registry file. If you have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator. DETAIL - Access is denied. , Build number ((2195))."
If so remove hotfix Q32**70. Or contact Microsoft (free) see this link

Thank you for your response.
We have been applying the Q32**70 patch after our updates. Since applying this patch we have elimainated the event ID 1000 errors, but it is still very slow at loging out. I have also heard that this problem can be associated with roaming profiles and a large number of files in the temporary internet files folder. I have the Advanced option to delete these files when the browser is closed.
