Windows 2000 Task Scheduler wont start

I am unable to start the task scheduler on one of my servers.
Win 2000 Server SP4

Error message:

Could not start the task scheduler service on local computer.
Error 2147500037: Unspecified error

Just some ideas:
Make sure the service configured to log on as the local system account, or may not start. and On the Log On tab, make sure that the local system account is selected, and that the Allow service to interact with desktop check box has a check mark

Also check the scheduler log "Schedlgu.txt", you may get more information

more ideas;
Check your application log, is there any "warning" or "error" event showup at that ime.
also check Rmote Procedure call is running properly, Task scheduler is depends on this service.

RPC is fine checked that one out too, exact same steps that I followed. We must be good debuggers.

also is that the only error message in the eventviewer, and did you apply the w2k sp4 post patches ?
