Windows 2000 trust domains problem

I have a parent domain “procme.pt” and a child domain “carnaxid.procme.pt”. The trust between them is ok, but when i try to log on in the domain “carnaxid” with a user from the “procme” domain give me an error that the user does not exist. Anyone can help me on this?
