I have an end user who tried to install a HP USB CDR 8220e on an IBM 600e Thinkpad. After the install, both the USB CDR and his ThinkPad’s CD-rom do not work. I unistalled the HP software, but his ThinkPad still shows a yellow exclamation mark forthe CD. I have tested the hardware, it works. I have removed the CD from device manager, and it still comes back as “not there.” The CD does not show up in My Computer. I have also tried to recopy each of the CD rom’s driver dlls from a similar machine.
Any ideas to bring the CD back to Windows 2000? I do not want to recore this machine…
