Windows 2000 Will Not Shutdown

By lacooke ·
Everytime I attempt to shutdown my Windows 2000 Professional computer it reboots instead. This does NOT happen in Safe Mode. The Event Log shows that there has been a problem starting on or around 5/17/2004, but since my computer stays on I did not notice it until now. Event Log error message is:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0x804f7c62, 0x00000000, 0x00000004). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini080304-08.dmp.

Any ideas or suggestions before I reload Windows?

This could be due to a bad or old driver in the system that does not close down properly. Make sure all essential drivers are digitally signed either in Device Manager or use the Verifier or Sigverif.exe utilities.

Computer was under warranty so sent to Manufacturer. Don't know why but drivers were corrupted & BIOS settings were "messed up". Reloaded system.
