Windows 2003 AD and Login Scripts

By mdebord ·
I am running a 7 site, 1 domain Windows 2003 Active Directory domain. I have a user that floats between two offices and needs drive mappings to servers at each location. The problem is that the drive letters that are mapped are the same at both locations (H and S). Is there a way through the login script that I can connect him to the proper server depending the site that he logs in from?

Does the user use the same machine in each location or different machines.
If so, you can check the machine name in the login script and run the appropiate drive mappings...

There is a script example here of building an ADM template with a GPO.

Then the GPO could be assigned to each AD site. I am assuming that you have 7 AD sites...

If ur domain/site consists of multiple ip-segments, u can do a check based on ip-address or gateway address.
