Windows 2003 EE + networking problem

by dullo . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

Recently got assigned to an issue where a Windows 2003 EE DC cannot be pinged over the network. No firewall service is running on the machine. The server does have a green light on the NIC and can receive an IP address from a DHCP server, but cannot ping out. Cannot ping default gateway. Any ping commands out get a ‘destination unreachable’ error. Receives IP address from DHCP server, but cannot ping DHCP server. Replaced NIC with a known good one, same issue. Tried running a crossover cable from my laptop to the server, same issue. Can ping its own ip as well as the loopback. Any ideas would be appreciated.
