I am running windows 2003 server standard edition as a server users access from the internet. I want to cahnge its role & make it a domain controller - will this affect users ability to log on via IIS to get the database information they need. Hope thats clear 7 I know win 2003 is ancient stuff but it works for us still thanks dave

I don't know if you'd want to make anything internet-facing

a DC. But others may have a more well-informed opinion on that.

How would it affect users? If it is no longer an IIS, then you need to put something else in place. If it is to be a multi-role server, make sure it has the capacity to serve as a DC without causing lag for the database users.
