Windows 2K Embedded Drive size limits.

by ackray . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Working on a Pelco 8000 running win2K embedded. Currently the setup supports drives of up to 500GB in IDE flavor.

The MB in the unit is the ASUS P4PE-X and has been flashed to the most recent Bios. In the BIOS screen the drives are properly listed.

Pelco claims that their software will recognize drives up to 750 without a problem.

When I exit out of the Pelco shell into a Win2K desktop I can enter Control Panel – Administrative tools – Computer management – Disk management where the drives are listed. However I cannot partition or format them there.

Am I running up against a limit in the Win2K embedded OS or is this more likely to be a hardware issue? Thanks.
