WINDOWS 2K LAPTOPS

WE HAVE GATEWAY LAPTOPS RUNNING WIN2K. EACH TIME YOU LOAD ANY TYPE SOFTWARE ON THE LAPTOP, THIS BLOWS THE CLIENT OFF THE SYSTEM.
YOU THEN HAVE TO RE-LOAD THE NW CLIENT TO LOG INTO THE PC. HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS?

You should be running at least v4.8 for Win2K. The netware client makes many entries into the registry. One of the entries looks like it is getting trounced. How are you installing the software? Are you using ZENworks, Winstall, etc.? If you are using this type of package, one of the network settings is being replaced on the new machine.
If you are not, look at the type of antivirus you are running. You will need to disable it. THis might or might not help, but I have found it to speed things up and prevent other installation issues.
