I lost the id numbers for my win 95 full ver cd rom. I think it is on the disk in a file. who can tell me where it is so I can load 95 on an older system

You can find this by searching the registry. However the simplest method is:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > System

You will see the Registered user as well as the registration number.

sorry I know where to look on my HD I'm talking about getting it off of a cdrom. I had to fdisk and format the HD. so you answer is no go to me. it has to be on the cd rom somehwere. SO what good tech on there no how to break this one

CDs are not individually unique. The ID number is on a sticker on the back of the jewel case, and you have to type it in yourself when you do an install.

go back and reread the question. I lost the ID number. If I had it I would not be asking this question
