windows 3.1

By cwlapp ·
I am doing a write up on Windows Operating Systems and the type of troubleshooting tools that come with them (i.e. scandisk, regedit and so on). I wanted to know what tools came packaged with the Windows 3.1 OS?

Windows 3.1's tools were mostly DOS-based. These included scandisk and defrag, as well as MSD (Microsoft Diagostics), a rudimentary tool for determining memory usage as well as conflicts in memory, IRQs, DMA channels, etc.

It also included regedit, but that tool was rarely used since most system configuration was done in the .ini files. Which reminds me of another tool, sysedit, which opened the 4 configuration files autoexec.bat, config.sys, win.ini, and system.ini.
