Windows 7 Display Flicker

I am running Windows 7 in a dual boot with XP,each OS is installed on seperate drives.
Recently I selected Windows 7 from the boot menu and once it loads it goes into complete display flicker whereas I cannot make adjustments because everything flickers,I have tried changing the refresh rate and have been unsucessful.Has any one have any ideas about this flicker problem and how to fix?

Try booting into Windows 7 - Safe Mode ...

That way, Windows 7 will start with only basic graphics drivers, thereby eliminating the flicker.

At that stage you can then gain access to the screen settings. Chances are, depending on what computer you have, Windows 7 is trying to use a screen dimension or refresh rate that your monitor is incapable of supporting.

LCD monitors must be set for 60Hz whereas CRT monitors are usually set to 72 - 85Hz or beyond, depending on their capability.

Flicker

I am using a CRT monitor and it was working great,then the flickering started,before work I tried resseting to 60 and it seem to work will know for sure when I use it this evening
