Windows 7 help with group policies?

By mr_t_wright ·
Ok, so I went to this campus to setup some new pc's because the guy that was working there left. He had policies set in place that locked down the student desktop and limited the internet access, after I joined the new win7 pc to the domain and logged on the domain none of the policies seem to setting. I did a gpupdate and it said it completed successfully however the desktop isn't locked down and the internet is not restricted according to the policies set in place.... Can anyone help?

You'll need to tell us which Server Version you are using here

But I don't think that Server 2003 or earlier work on 7.

The policies may be a bit different, From what i understand Windows 7 and windows server 2008 R2 are the best combonation for security policies. You may need to make a a new set of policies for this one system. (make sure you DC has all updates and patches, maybe that will fix the issue.
Did you check the Windows Event log to see if there are any error related to the GPO?

here are some artcles that may help you
