    Windows 7 – Windows Mail

    I think Microsoft needs to get in front of an issue that I haven’t heard much about. Outlook Express, gone in Vista replaced by Windows Mail. Windows Mail, gone in Windows 7 replaced by Windows Live Mail.
    I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and spent several hours trying to retrieve my Windows Mail emails. As I have no desire to use Windows Live Mail I had to first find, retrieve and then convert my .eml messages to .msg messages so I could bring them into Outlook. I never did get back my contacts.
    Not Happy.

      I agree 100%. I volunteered to help my step-mom set-up her new laptop and a wireless network. The wireless part was cinch. I was not aware of the email program not being there. Tried to use Thunderbird, but the ISP doesn’t support IMAP. She’s not IS savvy enough to use Live Mail. What a mess. Can’t believe with basically all new PC’s and Laptops being sold with 7 there hasn’t been more said about this.
