computer is a P4 1.7 GHz machine with 256MB RAM.
hard Drive is 2.0GB drive, running Windows 95C version.
Symptoms:
When accessing certain web pages through fas internet connection, fatal error message showed up.
Closing the error window produced a Registry error message.
computer is running Internet Explorer.
In order to fix the registry problem, I uninstalled IE5 which was replaced with IE4. could not delete IE4, so proceeded withe win95 re-install. NO problem with re-install.
When computer restarts, message appears,
“While initializing IOS, file listed in System.ini missing or damaged.
Windows protection Error. windows must be restarted.
there is also a reference to
C:\windows\system\vmm32\nkterm.vxd
I cannot seem to be able to get past this problem.
Any suggestion?
I have re-installed windows 95 from within windows and from DOS – same results.
