Hi All,
I’m have a problem with my Windows 98 machines. When I check the resources available, it is always under 90%. When my clients use the machines, the resources drop very quickly (50 or 60% resources–sometimes less). When I check what isrunning, there are no programs running in the background. We have to reboot the machines to get the resources back. My client is running high graphics programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Quark Express and Freehand, but when the programs close, they do no release the resources they were using. Upgrading the RAM to 256 has not helped, nor did a program called Mem turbo. I have cleaned the registry of the junk I can find, emptied the start up group and remarked the load= and run= lines in the System.ini.
Any more ideas? This is happening on all my Windows 98 machines, so it must be something OS specific. This does not happen on my Win 95 or Win 2000 machines. I cannot upgrade to 2000 on these machines since some of the programs will not run on 2000.
Please help. I’m desperate.
Thanks
TechiWoman.
