I have a user with a laptop with Win’98 installed.
Intermittenly when he boots it up it will run Scandisk and stall for ages at 9% when its checking the file system.
Eventually it passes this area but doesn’t offer any options to fix the problem.
I’ve tried running Scandisk once Windows is loaded and getting it to do a “Thorough” scan but it didn’t find any errors or bad clusters on the drive. It will however stall at 9% through the process as before.
Is there any way round this Scandisk problem on startup?
