Windows 98 SE won’t Install, Hangs

by nathan.herro . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

When installing Windows 98 SE from the CD or the harddrive, will not install. Installation hangs after initial “copying of setup files” or after receiving the following error message, “True Type Fonts detected.” After receiving error message, attempts to use “setup” command causes system to default to “D:\” or “C:\” prompt respectively based on install location.

Hard drive condition is formated along with “fdisk /mbr.”

Additional note: Same condition exists when attempting to install Windows 95.
