Windows 98 Startup Problem

By EaglePull ·
My computer boots to the screen saver and hangs. If I use CTRL ALT DEL to go to Task Manager, and "end task" the first application listed "Kbcom", it boots normally. How can I determine which application this is, so that I can remove it?

You can find info about Kbcom on following site

Run an ad-ware search and clean out first. Then
look to see if the "kbcom" is still present.
Then try spyware, this could be what "kbcom"
is, reporting where you went and what you saw.

Do you mean the startup screen? Check to make sure that your keyboard and mouse are plugged in to the correct ports.

To disable it, try MSCONFIG.
See: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ for more info.
