i have wd hard disk which is being used since 2 yrs.. since 2-3 days im facing problem with the hard disk. windows able to detect hd(shows to eject hard disk) but not visible in my computer. i checked for it in device management. its saying uninitialized some times and some times nothing.
how to get it repaired with or without data.. plz help me.. thanks in advance..

And test the HDD. If it fails the first test remove it from this system fir to another computer and retest. If it fails the second test the drive has gone to Silicon Heaven but if it p[asses the second test the Data Lead, Power Supply of M'Board in the first computer has failed and needs attention.
Not sure about the Windows version as I've never bothered attempting to use it as if Windows is badly messed up the results may be too.
Or you can download the Ultimate Boot CD and run the Disc Utility from there though as I personally don't use WD Drives I'm not sure if the WD Utility is on it but it has most of them. The Ultimate Boot CD is available free here, just make sure that you click on the ISO and not the add.
