We have used Gnat box, good security, but difficult to maintain. I want to install Winroute on an internal network off of the main (world) network. After installing Winroute, my tech support people couldn’t get in. However I have read in this forum that Winroute has weaknesses. What are they?
    Thanks

I don’t know about Winroute, but NAT32 does an excellent job of IP address translation and is VERY easy to configure and maintain. Not to mention the full registered version is only $20 or $30. Go to http://www.nat32.com if you would like to download a trial version and check it out.

For weaknesses in whatever you have installed, check out http://grc.com/default.htm
      – click on shields up then run both kinds of tests, then check FAQ for details on holes in your security now & in theory.

      Hello,
Winroute have a couple of flaws as far as i now.Winroute is born in a proxy, many proxy’s are manipulated by malicuios hackers to “spoof” or use as a “zombie” to attack other machines like DoS Attacks, etc….
If I was you I would stick with Gnat box scince good security don’t come right out of the box!!!! don’t try to looke the quick way out!!! Is going to cost you alot of security risk.
I hope that these have help you.
Thanks and have a grate security shooping!!!
      Good luck.
