Windows cannot access registry info

By daniel ·
We are receiving the following error message (Event ID 1000, Source Userenv) within the application log on several of our W2K servers:

Windows cannot access the registry information at \\domainname.com\sysvol\domainname.com\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol with (5).

Research on the error message 5 suggested an 'Access Denied' error while accessing the Sysvol folder. However, I confirmed the Sysvol folder was shared and I can directly connect to the registry.pol from the servers getting the error message.

Any help would be appreciated

Just to double-check your permissions and settings, look at this article and see if it applies to your situation:

Hope this helps!

I have the correct permissions since I can connect to registry.pol inside the Syslog folder from all the other servers
