Windows cannot connect to the domain

by iain.russell . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

When trying to log in the massage appears
‘Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear contact your system administrator for assistance.’

I am using a Dell Optiplex 745 and can only log in as administrator locally. The computer was working as normal yesterday (it did this a couple of weeks ago aswell, but i rebuild the computer and it worked again)

When logged on locally i can view the server file system as normal through the network path, and can also view the internet.

I have used the resource CD but it is all installed (it is fully updated on Microsoft update also). The only thing i can see that could be causing a problem is that in device manager their is ‘SM Bus Controller’ with a question mark under ‘other devices’. But when i try to update this it finds nothing.

Any help/idea’s would be appreciated.
