Windows cluster size problem

by ganvar . Updated 25 years, 11 months ago

I went to run scandisk and defrag on my 18gig windows partition. It gaves me the good old out of memory error, which I knew was not the problem (defrag error: DEFRAG009). I checked out the error on microsoft’s web site and it said something about a bad cluster size. I loaded up ranish partition manager,(http://www.users.intercom.com/~ranish/part/) and there it was. I had a 4k cluster size on a 18gig partiton. Now, the problem is I really don’t want to wipe the data for the drive, but I don’t have the 60 dollars to shell out for “Partition Magic.” It would be of very much help if someone could tell me of a free program that I can use to change my cluster size. Any type of free program to change cluster size would be VERY appericated. Thanks for your time.
