I can’t seem to find a straight answer to this problem anywhere – so I apologize if this has been covered before…
I’m having a problem with my Security Logs on Windows 2003 systems getting full. I go in, set them to overwrite as needed, set the size to 40MB, hit ok – and all is well for a day or two, and then the log will be full again. I go into the Properties on Security, and they have changed to delete after 7 days, and max @ 9MB.
I tried to set them through a group policy, using “as needed” and “40MB” as the thresholds, but am STILL having the same issue.
One system that is severely affected by this is my Terminal Server for the call center – if this gets full, my agents can’t log in; so it’s a fairly high level failure that I MUST resolve.
What voodoo must I do to make my Event Logs stay put?
