There was an internal error and one of the windows you were using has been closed. Recommend saving all work and closing programs then restart computer. Work around, or an actual fix???
thanks,
bob

Windows Explorer

Some people say that the fix for Windows errors is to switch to Linux or Apple.

To reduce the likelyhood of more crashes, do the following:

Increase RAM:
For W9X and Me, 128MB to 384MB
For W 2000 or XP, 256MB up to what the motherboard / budget allows.

Reduce running programs:
Shut down all system tray icons that you do not use / need daily.

Reduce programs that run at startup.

Use a spyware scanner such as AdAware from www.lavasoft.de to clean spy applications from your PC.
Clean out both the Windows\Temp and your internet cache folders.

Boot into safe mode, and run scandisk and defrag.

If your Windows installation is over 3 years old, consider formatting the hard drive, and re-installing Windows and all needed software.
Over time, Windows builds up a lot of useless links and data in the system registry.
The most effective way to clean the registry is to start over fresh.

Short of starting over, use a registry cleaner such as Norton Win Doctor, or V-Com Fit-It.
