Windows Explorer Status bar in WinXPhome

By Lizzy ·
Hi all,
I think I am missing something simple here. On my Windows XP home edition P4 PC I use the classic style folders in Windows Explorer, details view, show all files, show full path in title bar and address bar, and set all folders to have thesame view. I set all folders to have the same view after showing the status bar, but when I close WE and re-open it, the status bar is gone again and I have to go through View, ... to get it back again. Is there some way to always have it showing? Registry edits are welcome!!
Thanks in advance!
Lizzy

Hi Lizzy,

Don't know if you've tried that, but after customizing your view, go back into the folder options in the view menu. There should be a button there that says 'like current folder'. This will keep this setting for all folders.

If it still doesn't work, I would repeat the process, but do it at the 'My Computer' level.

Hi Quintar,
"I set all folders to have the same view" which was the "ike Current Folder"button. I don't know why it stopped doing this, but it did. It is now holding the settings (maybe it was the Windows Updates?). You know how if you ever open Windows Explorer in Safe Mode on a 9x PC and the next time you open Win. Exp. in normal mode, all the views are back to large icons? I am wondering if it's something like that kind of hiccup in the Windows code...

Anyway, thanks for your time and here's some points for you! I appreciate your time.
