Windows File Protection

By 98South ·
Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been placed by unrecognized versions Too maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions to these files. What does this mean? What do I do?

Sounds as if you have an infection of some kind that is attacking Windows itself.

As you'll need to clean this up first you'll need to perform some scans from either a boot floppy of CD to clean up the HDD/s and once they are clean you can run SFC to restore the corupt files.

Lets know how you get on.

this message appears when you are attempting to delete protected windows system files. ensure that you hide the operating system files and folders, to prevent further damage to your system.
also run a virus scan and see if there is anything untoward.
