WINDOWS folder in recycle bin?!

by norehca . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

Ok really wierd! This has happened to me before. Now this is a fresh install of windows i havnt visted any nasty websites! I dont anyway but thats beside the point! Ive visted legitmate websites since ive installed windows so how could this be a virus. I even had ad-aware (ad-watch) installed and running before i went on and i trust adaware 99%. Ive never had problems with it so i doubt its any sort of adware.

I see my recyvle bin is full so i right click and it says are oyu sure you want to empty WINDOWS folder form the recycle bin. I grab my hair and reach out to the sky and yell “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”…and click cancel. I look in the recycle bin and nothings there. I enable viewing of hidden files and hidden system files and nothing. Plus you cant just delte the windows folder. it wont let you! Trust me 3 years ago i was so fircken curious about everything, ive tryed it!

I say to myself “crap, time to ask the guys from TechRepublic!” I dlete a shortcut and accidentally empty the recyle bin but notice it doesnt say empty all the items out of the bin, it simple says do you want to delete this “single item (shortcut)” from the bin. Telling me there was only the shortcut in there. What the heck is going on. Please help!
