Celeron 333, (Windows 98 1st edition) , 64 RAM computer which used to be working fine. Suddenly it started freezing after a while, more on internet than off internet. NOW it freezes as soon as it loads windows . It freezes right at the the time when we start seeing icons on the desk and system tray icons are loading. I changed memory (64 megabyte), Checked CPU on other computer, Changed Video card but nothing works. I even erased everything in hard disk and reinstalled Win 98 from scratchbut nothing helps. Recently I cannot install Windows even as it freezes while installing. So I installed win 98 in other computer and put the hard drive back in the compter. But it just freezes as discribed above … at the end of loading windows. Tried to run on DOS mode and it runs … no freezing. Can you give any ideas about how to correct this problem? .Thank you.
