Windows Hello Fingerprint Not Working
Hi all,
I have some different generation of Lenovo X1 Carbon which all of them had fingerprint sensor. Recently all of them upgraded to latest Windows version, when me and my user want to setup Windows Hello Fingerprint. When I go to Settings want to choose Windows Hello Fingerprint, it stated that ‘The option is currently available- Click to learn more.
This 2 laptops currently under my company internal domain. I noticed some of the red words appear
‘Some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organizations.
is it something related to my domain settings?
I try to login to laptop local administrator, it has no problem setup fingerprint. This puzzles me because last time using ThinkPad X1 Carbon which running on Windows 10 also has no problem setup fingerprint using domain user account. Why this 2 laptop when upgrade to latest Windows version will have such issue?
For your information,
I go to my AD server to check some settings regarding biometrics. For your information, my AD is using Windows Server 2008 R2. I go to Group Policy Management Editor–>Computer Configurations–>Policies–>Administrative Templates: Policy Definitions(ADMX Files) retrieved from the local machine–>Windows Components–>Biometrics. There is 4 options available which isAllow the use of biometric
Allow user logon using biometric
Allow domain user to logon using biometric
Timeout for fast user witching events
I enabled the first 3 options on the yesterday. I restart one of the ThinkPad just now. But it still appear the same. Even domain administrator account also cannot use fingerprint sensor. Is there any wrong of my group policy settings in my AD server? it is because I do not think it is my driver, BIOS, Windows Update problem because I still can setup fingerprint in my local administrator account before doing group policy change in my AD server.
