I have ME with IE 6.0 and an irritating problem. When I boot, I occasionally get a problem with explorer. I can see the egg timer repeatedly dispalying for a few seconds whilst the machine is doing nothing. I know at that point if I connect to the internet, I will be able to connect via Dial Up but whn I boot IE6.0, it will initally display the window, start loading my home page and then hang. ALT+CTRL+DEL, shows the program not responding, if you end task it will generally work fine the second time. I have a similar problem in e-mail (outlook 2000), if I pick up mail, the window shows the download but finishes with the “letter” cursor and no mail. End task and reloading outlook gives me the mail. Occasionally Windows explorer exhibits the same symptoms. In all cases when I get this I can’t exit windows, the machine hangs. Switching off a the mains is the only solution. It’s not everytime, just annoying. I had it with IE5.5, I’ve searched MS and installed every fix for ME same problem. Anyone any ideas?
