    by ladosbence2003 ·

    Hello!

I have a Asus vivbook. It has m.2ssd.
In the past weeks I had Debian on this ssd. But now I wanted to install windows, I have made a bootable stick but when Im in the installer my computer does not recognise my ssd. I have tried several times. Yesterday I put this ssd in PC then I installed windows on it then I put it back in laptop but it didnt boot.
    Any ideas?

Does the SSD show in the BIOS? Then the Windows installer should see it indeed.

If you installed Windows on it in another PC, it most like won’t succesfully boot, because it’s not fine-tuned to the laptop hardware. But it should do something.

Yes it show up in the BIOS not in the boot menu but it show up. When I have to select the disk it says there are missing drivers.

So it shows up in the Windows setup, but it says it doesn’t have the right driver. Then call Asus tech service and ask how to install Windows on a new ssd.

Yup. Some laptops are like that.

The exact model Asus Vivbook is not given so I can’t tell if this was one of those that MANDATED you add a RAID or other driver to the Windows install stick.
