    Windows installtion prob

    Hey guys i recently formattd a customer 3.2GHZ dell optiplex 210L pc and installed windows XPSP2. After finishing the installation my system can’t load the windows it freezes in the middle. I tried to load it in safe mode and it works but the prob is the windows couldn’t start normally. ANY BODY HELP!!

      Drivers?

      When you installed XP, did you install all of the required drivers? Checking the documentation, I show the following drivers (in this order) are for the 210L:

      * Dell Desktop System Software
      * Intel? 915GV Chipset
      * Intel 915GV Integrated Video
      * SigmaTel? 92XX Integrated Audio
      * Intel PRO/100 VE Network
      * Intel PROSet Network Diagnostics (optional)

      The most common mistake is to skip the Dell Desktop System software. That software is basically the Dell specific portion of the chipset software, which is why it should be installed.

      If you have already installed the drivers correctly, or if that does not fix the problem let me know and I will be happy to provide more help.

      At what point does it freeze up? Have you checked the Event Log to see what errors show up there? Since it works in Safe Mode it has to be a driver or service causing the problem.
