how do i remove the windows logon conpeatily

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Computer Name, Change.

Unjoin it from the domain.

This is the media xp and i installed it with a clean install with one pass word ,sence then the dialogue window at startup will not stop showing itself ,even with out the pass word,I still have to hit OK to start a log on ,there was a file in XX98 ?what do you think,

start - control Panel - User Accounts - Make only 1 account and remove the password.

I try that first but still have a dialogue window,got any other thougts

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the entire TCP/IP stack...drastic but fast and easy...seems like something is hanging.

Bring up your "run" box type in
"control userpasswords2" This will open the User Accounts window. Select the account you want to automatically login with (i.e. MYUSER)unchech the box, at the top of the screen, "user must enter a username and password to use this computer". then choose Apply you should now log directly in from a warm or cold boot.

I have had to do this myself a couple of times its not as hard as it looks.
