This article explains the file MSDOS.SYS. Edit it to read BootGUI=0 and restart. You're at the DOS prompt! Edit it back and restart. You're in Windows. (Note: it's hidden and read-only. You'll need to change file atrributes back & forth).

This article explains the file MSDOS.SYS. Edit it to read BootMenu=1 and restart. You'll get a menu offering the choice to boot to DOS or Windows (or Safe Mode).
