I have Windows ME installed. I tried to install a HP P1000 PhotoSmart printer on LPT1. I have set port in BIOS to ECP as instruced by HP. PlugnPlay finds the printer and I then install using HP software (as instructed). HP install informs me it can’t find printer. If I uninstall to try again, Windows hangs on a restart and won’t enter. I have to go thru SAFE mode and disable printer port. If I try to remove the port afterwards and then refresh, I get the same system hang-up. Any ideas?
