Windows ME, can’t add Dial Up Adapter

Ok, so I can’t logon to any ISP with my new Dell Inspiron 3800 running Windows ME with a standard 56k internal. So I troubleshoot for a while. Then I begin to uninstall and reinstall components, protocols, etc… hoping to happen across the trouble.Well, after deleting Dial Up Adapter in the Network portion of Control Panel, and rebooting, I want to add it back in right? Wrong! Not an option. Can’t add Adapters there, just clients, protocols, and services. Where’d it go? Even removing the modem driver and reinstalling it doesn’t recreate the darn thing. Anybody know?

confused in texas! cindy
