Windows ME error files

Hi guys there..
OK, my question is, when I ran Windows ME on my new PC, I always get this message “REGENEV32 has caused an error in ..”
At startup I also get an error that says I need to restart the PC because Windows found an error in some system files and a confirmation if I want to restart Windows. When I click on YES (to restart the PC), it hangs and freezes!
What is the cause of these errors and how can I overcome it?

Just re-install WinME that should repair the damaged or missing files.

Hey man, did you just recently istall some new type of hardware? If so, then reinstall the drivers for it. That might resolve your dilemma. Good luck!
