I installed a new pc with Windows ME, Office XP SBE and Internet Explore 5.5. It also has a modem and nic. I initially connected it up on our network to perform windows update to get the latest patches and norton virus defs. I configured a dial-up to a local isp and then moved the pc off-site with no network. In the internet connection properties I changed it to ‘always dial my default connection’ and made sure that the dialup to my isp was the default connection (i did hit ‘apply’) but whenI reboot the machine, the default returns to ‘never dial a connection’ even though the pc is not on a lan. I can’t find a solution to this problem on the microsoft knowledgebase. Any ideas? I’ve done this in ME previously without any problem.
