Windows ME print problem with web pages

By mbennett ·
I have a new IBM-Netvista machine on Win ME that used to print web pages and E-mail just fine. All I get now is the header and footer. I have run all diags., reinstalled the printer and still can't get it to work. The printer still works perfect onnon web based applications such as Office 97. I would appreciate any advice on what to try next.

Are you printing from Internet Explorer or Netscape? If you have both, does it not work from either or just one of the two? Have you checked the "page setup" option in your web browser that is listed under "file" in Internet Explorer?

I should have been more specific. I am using Internet Explorer 5.5 and Outlook Express 5.5. Print preview does not show the web pages as it should. The page set up is correct.

try this:
1. go to tools internet options, advanced, and choose to print background and graphics.
or
2. highlight the whole webpage and copy it, paste it in WORD and try to print from there, that will atleast narrow it down to if it is internet explorer or windows
good luck

Printing background colors and images did not help. Copying the web page to Word works fine.

I recommend that you uninstall the printer.
Reboot. Go into the registry. Clear out any remaining traces of the printer. Reboot. Reinstall.

Many printers (especially from HP) do not uninstall completely. If one of the dlls is corrupted, then the problem will not be resolved until you do each and every step above; a reinstall will not overwrite dlls that are still there after an uninstall.
