Windows ME replaced with Win 98 SE

By Shanghai Sam ·
Will the BIOS settings on a SYSTEMAX 1.4GHZ (AMD ATHLON) that were originally for ME prevent the clean installation of Windows 98SE? This is a TIGER electronics AMD ATHLON system they refuse to support.

A full reformat was supposedly done before 98SE
installation, to wipe the prior OS, but I am wondering...

Specs as follows:
Motherboard unidentified
1.4GHZ AMD ATHLON
256MB PC133 SDRAM
60 GB ULTRA ATA HD
NVidia M64 TNT2 32 MB Graphics card w/TV Out3DFORCE B-32-TV
16x (max) DVD-ROM Drive
12x8x32 (max) CDRW Drive
Original with ULTRA WINDOWS Millenium OS

Windows ME replaced with Win 98 SE

The BIOS settings shouldn't make any difference between operating systems.

You will need different driver files for W98 than were supplied for Me.

You should go to each mfg website, and download the W98 drivers.
Install the drivers for the motherboard / chipset first, then the drivers for the other devices.

If you have a specific problem, post a question with that problem, and we will try to answer it.
