Hi Chaps Have a problem need some help my windows media player wont play Downloaded films anymore it keeps comming up windows media player has stopped working a problem has caused the program to stop working windows will close program and will notify if a solution is available.wmp is playing music and discs but not from there folder my wmp is through vista ultimate 64 bit and now my convert X to dvd has stopped running when asked to burn a disc it says transcoder has stopped all since wmp went down has any one any snswer to this problem there is no error report number so i cant check out what the fault is online please keep answers simple as i am not to good on computers thanks Denbell

You can try re-installing it.

Either download the stand-alone installer from MS, or go to the Programs and Features control panel, see whether it is listed under Programs or Windows components. If Repair Install is available, try that. Otherwise, you may need to uninstall, then re-install it.

Also, check in Device Manager to ensure that no codecs or drivers are listed as broken, missing, or disabled.

You might also wish to check for running services - type
into the Run box, and click OK. Make sure any service that looks like it is involved with media is enabled and running (like Windows Media Audio, etc.).
More info about the VSO transcoder issue if a WMP re-install or other measures do not fix it.
