Windows media problems playing audio
I have installed Windows XP Home edition on my computer. I also have Nero 6.0 as my burning software. (I've had Roxio which I like better as far as the ease of the Burning and label tool, but now have Ner.) With this Nero came the Nero media player. All it does it played music files, but no Video as the Windows media Player does.
The problem is when I do put an audio CD to play, on the songlist side "NOW PLAYING" on the very right side, the songs just randomly, rapidly skip up and down with out playing anything. Then a Windows media Player error message pops up stating :
"WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER CANNOT PLAY THE FILE BECAUSE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SOUND DEVICE. THERE MAY NOT BE A SOUND DEVICE INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER,IT MAY BE IN USE BY ANOTHER PROGRAM,OR IT MAY NOT BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY."
(Codec error # OXCOOD11BA)
I do have sound in other apps. like the Nero, and other Windows sounds, the sound card is working properly in device manager.
By removing the Nero media Player, would this make the Windows media Player work? I also don't want alot of players on board to comflict with other programs. I was also going to upgrade to Windows Media Player 10. This WMP 9.0 came with the XP Operating system.
Thanks.
